So we allowed the Chinese to fly a spy balloon clear across the continent. DoD advised the president NOT to shoot it down because someone might get an owie.

Now an ‘anonymous Source’ says they did it 3 times under trump. Trump and former SECDEF say bullshit.

So the possibilities are:

- we can’t detect or shoot a fucking balloon coming over the pacific.

- SECDEF is completely in bed with the Chinese. That explains lying about it happening before.

Why did the Chinese do it?

Either:

- probing defenses and they found a big fucking gap

- accidental release and found a big fucking gap.

- confirming that they can do whatever the hell they want

Heh I was hanging out with some railroad guys yesterday, and they were talking about getting called in to work on it.

Apparently, the railroads have gutted their maintenance departments, leading to more of these. They're not fucking happy about the executive branch overriding their union negotiations. No raises in years, shit conditions, etc. Lots of guys retiring.

That mirrors what I hear from my brother who works for a railroad. When he started it was a good job. Good pay, good pension, good medical plan, in the last 20 years they have just continually reduced to appeal of the job. Less of everything you want, more stupid regulations and management.
