Re: International sports bar
There's a good chance Italy would have moved on the round of 16 actually, Panama is guaranteed to go home, unless they get the weakest group ever and squeak through on sheer fluke, hence why it's lame. If you think Italy sucks just because they didn't qualify, you underestimate how shitty the qualification rules are.GrumpyCatFace wrote:And they’ll be there through the first round, then go home. Nah, it sounds the same as any other sports divisions, actually. The winner of the AFC West will always go to the playoffs, no matter how bad they are.StCapps wrote:There's a good chance Italy would have moved on the round of 16 actually, Panama is guaranteed to go home, unless they get the weakest group ever and squeak through on sheer fluke, hence why it's lame. It's the beta toss sport, not dwarf tossing. Dwarf tossing is offensive to little people.

Jesus Capps, how long are you going to go on belly aching about this? One time in sixty years that Italy didn't qualify and you want to turn the world cup into another version of the European championships. Scotland hasn't qualifed for 20 years and they are better than Panama too. Get over it.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Yeah except there is a lot of parity in the NFL, and in soccer there are a lot shitty regions that can't play soccer and they get to send several teams, taking up slots on teams that can't win to make it harder for good European teams to qualify, and most of the best teams in the world are European. It's not the same at all.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Nah, it sounds the same as any other sports divisions, actually. The winner of the AFC West will always go to the playoffs, no matter how bad they are.

2010 Seahawks went to the playoffs at 7-9.
2 teams were 10-6, did not even get a wildcard spot. It happens.

Re: International sports bar
If you made football national team based, the US would kill everyone and Canada would kill everyone who isn't the US. You are comparing apples and oranges, the sports are not the same when it comes to parity. Some regions are better soccer than others, if you don't know that, you're don't know shit about soccer. There is no division in the NFL that is as terrible CONCACAF, and there is no division in football as awesome as UEFA.GrumpyCatFace wrote:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_playo ... rds_(team)StCapps wrote:Yeah except there is a lot of parity in the NFL, and in soccer there are a lot shitty regions that can't play soccer and they get to send several teams, taking up slots on teams that can't win to make it harder for good European teams to qualify, and most of the best teams in the world are European.
