Every woman of my generation I know is what I would consider an alcoholic at worst, heavy drinker at best.

They never go a day without a drink, can't do any activities without adding wine, have no real hobbies besides drinking, and have massive mood problems due to withdrawal symptoms. Add to the fact that half of them will take Xanax or Adderall like candy if given the choice

Hell, I was at Disney California Adventure yesterday waiting in the beer line for Mickey pretzels and I was the only man in line. I also was the only person who didn't order a drink.

Maybe I just look down on it more because I'm pretty much a teetotaler at this point

Your wife? Not trying to be a dick but calling out a whole generation of women just begs the question. Me? I know a lot of guys that were ridiculous heavy drinkers and now they don't at all and most dont miss it. Many of the women I know are pretty steady drinkers not heavy.

Is steady any difference than heavy?

By steady I mean 1 or 2 glasses of wine a night. To me that is not heavy, mind you that isn't me but I am a social drinker. Then again I am a wine snob of sorts.

There is a formula the more females present the number of drinks grow by some unknown numerical factor, I have noticed that. I married into a polish Catholic family man do they drink, but the women as soon as they find out they are pregnant they stop, a glass of wine a week.

I wonder if looking to meet someone at church is still an option.

In my experience, that only works when you are pretty young and you have a good chance of meeting a traditional woman. Those women only become available when they come of age and possibly if they are widowed. For the rest of us.. it's weird. I can't explain it. I just encountered this weirdness again tonight with a woman I see all the time between church and gym/sports. We all obviously have issues to be single outside of our early twenties, so there's that. And then there's the fact that we all go to church and nobody wants to signal that they are into sex outside marriage.

Our whole culture is just a disaster at this point.

As in, why aren't you married and starting a family? What did you do wrong?

You could try to restrict the amount of ammunition it's possible to buy - Something they've done in California. Something that failed to stop the San Bernadino massacre.

Limey Bastard just doesn't understand the DIY attitude we have in this country. Do you know how many people already build their own loads? The trick is to realize that all people are insane in some way. We're all screwed up one way or another. Perfect is the enemy of good here as well. Try to find someone whos insanity you can put up with and who seem to tolerate yours. No one's gonna change in any substantial way so just forget about "fixing" someone.

It's a call out. Lefties go after guns because they don't want anyone but their goon squads to have guns. They want everyone to be disarmed so their mob can operate without opposition. It's a power grab, and they know it, but they can't say that openly. So they conceal this desire with nonsense about caring about people and wanting to stop killings, but that's total horseshit.

When lefties pounce on the latest hysteria, and Jimmy Kimmel starts weeping on tv, and they give you the whole spiel about needing to someone to stop the pain and suffering, you call them on it.

Unless you are a gang member in Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York, guns are not a problem for you in America. If a person's true motivation was to reduce suffering and extend lives, they wouldn't be wasting energy on something that doesn't make the top ten list for shit that affects people's lives.

When you call them out for being clearly wrong in where they should be focusing their attention, if their goal is actually to increase well being and make people safer, they never, ever, not in a million years, adjust their course and target something that is actually a credible threat risk. They stay right on guns, because that's the issue in the first place.

Look, cancer is the number two killer in the nation, and when have you seen cry baby kimmel (someone come up with a better nickname for him) weeping on stage over cigarettes? Fucking never, and you never will, because it ain't about health and safety.

These are the same people promoting obesity as the new definition of beauty, when heart disease is the number one killer in the nation. They don't care about health and safety. They're after control, and you with a gun presents a problem.

Like I've said, I am ambivalent about gun control, but reflexively and emphatically for defending the bill of rights.

But when people bring up automobile fatalities, I think: well we regulate the shit out that. Safety standards concerning how they are made, and out of what materials. Where you are allowed to use them, and in what capacity, and we got a big ol' list of everyone who owns or operates one... a couple big ol' lists actually. Despite all of that, I am able to own, operate, and enjoy my automobile, and even with higher average speeds, and loads more drivers on the road, we are safer in our cars thanks, at least in part, to the regulations. America has got a car culture as well as a gun culture, and when I am on a road trip I don't typically feel my liberty is onerously proscribed by a tyrannical state.

Even if we assume the absolute worst about people who advocate for gun control, and their motivations, you don't make that point by talking about fatties, or cancer, and talking about automobile deaths actually hurts the anti-gun control case, IMHO.
