I do think that "the CIA is a(n)... entity operating to fulfill an agenda outside the realm of elected politicians", but I'm not too keen on spilling its secrets to foreign governments.

Our spies don't always (or even often) have the best interests of everyday Americans at heart, but I'll take them over any other country's spies any day.

Exactly. Here's a question to Flynn supporters: How much do the interests of Turkey's spies line up with the American people's? Considering Turkey was aiding and abetting ISIS, trying to start shit with Russia and hide behind the NATO shield, and generally acting like boorish shitheads, I would say, not much.

You assume Erdogan made the call to shoot down a Russian plane.

Consider this, the Turkish Air Force shot down the RU plane. The Turkish Air Force also was the largest branch leading the coup against Erdogan.

Perhaps the CIA used their contacts in Turkish Air Force to strike the Russian plane in hopes of instigating and international crisis which would lead to NATO having to step in to northern Syria which is what they have been screaming for from the get go.

If you look at the timeline Erdogan and Russia have become best buds and that coincides with the time of the failed coup.

I can't say that I know enough about what went on behind the scenes in Turkey to say what happened with that plane, but I don't think Flynn should have been collaborating with Turkey at all. If he wanted to lobby for any faction of Turkey be it Erdogan or Army, he should have stayed as far as possible away from the 2016 election.
