While we're on the high seas, I'll mention Sink the Bismarck also. A great piece of naval history, a battleship at sea fataly disabled by aircraft was a turning point in their decline as capital ships.

Sub's are great settings for flicks. Crimson Tide, the 90s one with Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington was pretty good.
