When I was a kid I picked up a copy of his book: Submarine! Each chapter alternated between the missions of his boat and the most historic sub missions of the war. Blew me away, highly recommended, and back in print.

While we're on the high seas, I'll mention Sink the Bismarck also. A great piece of naval history, a battleship at sea fataly disabled by aircraft was a turning point in their decline as capital ships.

Has Zulu been mentioned? Young bloody Michael Caine!
 Good Ones.
Sub's are great settings for flicks. Crimson Tide, the 90s one with Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington was pretty good.

I don't think Zulu had been mentioned earlier

Surprisingly accurate portrayal of medieval life...
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Looking forward to the " once upon a time" film about Manson which is historical but tarintuno is too cartoonish now for my taste. Use to love his shit but you know how it goes, " nothing gold last" and not everything that glistens is gold.

The Reverant and Catch me if you can are real good too.

And my God Scorsese is making a Theodore film soonish. O what possibilities with that one there are. Hopefully it doesn't get fucked like the edgar Hoover one was.

I loved the opening scene in "A Lion in Winter" (Henry II) where Peter O'Toole gets out of bed and has to crack the ice in his washbasin to splash his face. Even the king freezes his ass off back in the day.
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

There's a conversation in Jabberwocky which goes something like

''That was the King''
''How do you know he is the King?''
''Because he's not covered in shit''

Thats from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. And he wasn't a king, just an actor playing one in the film.
