It's just a matter of time, Disney is buying it all, MGM owns James Bond, Disney will buy it just for 007 alone.

If I could I would buy MGM just for the MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas:

Pretty sure MGM Resorts will be spun off, Disney wants the content for Disneyflix, but MGM will probably hold on to the hotels.

Same as Fox, you hold on to the assets which are money makers, spin the old content business off to Disney for stock.

What the hell is going on (and yeah, I am going to see it in a day or two- I will not go on opening night and I have heard that Disney is forcing theaters across America to play it for at least 4 weeks. So I know that I got a lot of time to see it).
First, if you've opened the thread, none of this should be spoilers thanks to nuke and daralon.

Pretty hardcore fan here (right down to the username and avatar)

Plot holes have always been a weakness of star wars, but the logic is seriously absent in this one. I agree Snoke seemed like Sidious redux, but they built him up and tore him down in a pretty bad way. I mean, it would make sense if he was some terrific mind reader and manipulator but couldn't fight at all and they killed him in a duel or something, but they killed him at his strength, which is lame and, I think, a poor story choice. I think Snoke's story will be in the new expanded universe books the fake nerds buy (all the real ones are still stuck in their boycott for the old books).

Ultimately, I thought a bunch of directorial decisions were poor- the biggest one was Luke's death at the end, since it isn't clear from watching why he dies. I walked out thinking it was inner peace or some similar thing, but my brother thought it was the exertion of the force projection (or whatever they call that power now). Star Wars tech hasn't always been logical either, but only using the lead ship as a limit of the technology to track doesn't make sense. Also, a cruiser in hyperspeed would probably wreck Snoke's ship, but it would be poorly designed if it caused the whole thing to blow up, and the cruiser certainly shouldn't have killed all the star destroyers nearby as it was shown to.

They fly through "space" as if it was air, and they "hyperspace" jump around the galaxy likes it's a few miles wide, it's not "technology" it's magic, even as magic it makes no sense.

Ian M Banks painted a much more realistic picture of jump points than SJWars ever did.

Banks isn't really into tech neither, his tech is magical as well, if you want technological space, that's where you go to Reynolds, no warp, no hyperspace, constant acceleration relativistic speeds only.
