Over here in America we are all mixed up with English, Irish, and German genes all mixed together, mostly. That's not the case for you guys.
That's just the thing.. The history shows these series of big invasions and supposed demographic replacements, but the genetics of the actual British people show that they haven't changed much since the last ice age.
In general, the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes were Germanic, though probably more closely related to Danes. But they apparently didn't leave that much of a mark, genetically, since 80% of the British genetic pool remains the same as it ever was.
They certainly had a massive cultural impact. I think most of us are technically modern Saxons, culturally.
