Tax the fuck out of every means of egress to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Those places are HUGE and bringing in lots of cash. Make every road a toll road. Tax their firewater and their glass beads. Not one fucking indian works in those places--everyone in the tribe benefits--tax the shit out of the palefaces who do work there. Create a special tax on the busloads of Asians and old folk--doubly tax old Asians! Tax them out of business; it's unfair competition. If Connecticut wants casinos, let them be regularly taxed casinos--not these profit sharing Drunken Bear needs a new pair of snakeskin boots deals.
And try voting for someone other than the same old Democrats for a change. Go back to building submarines and serving lobster rolls on the roadside.

Agreed.....I bet $50 DCF bucks that CT follows suit within 5 years.

[Edit] I thought PR's creditors would strike a deal in order to avoid bankruptcy....guess not....

Nah, that's a big part of why they won't make it a state.
CT on the other hand, will not be allowed to go bust. The credit will be extended, bailouts made, and draconian measures employed.

New York is far ahead of Boston in the competition for Hartford-based Aetna’s new headquarters, Daily Ructions can report. After 164 years in Hartford, the insurance giant invited proposals from Boston and New York. The city that never sleeps is soon expected to win a public acknowledgement of its victory.
CT doesn't have the money to bribe them this time around......

Connecticut has $11.3 billion available assets to pay $74.9 billion worth of bills," its report on the state said. "Connecticut would need more than $20,000 from each of its taxpayers to pay all of its bills
As a partial solution, Malloy and state employee union leaders agreed earlier this week on a tentative proposal calling for concessions by the worker groups of about $700 million for the next fiscal year, and slightly more than $800 million for 2018-2019.

The plan, which faces a vote by member unions, would freeze wages for the next two years, but then give raises of a base of 3.5 percent the following two years
And this part just makes me laugh -- these are the proposed solutions:
Some state legislators suggest legalizing marijuana as a new tax source, as well as new tolls and a new casino. Other legislators and economic analysts say one remedy is to start taxing services, such as dog grooming.
NEW TOLLS IS THE PATH TO PROSPERITY!

Speaker to Animals wrote:We should federalize the pension problems and give these people the same amount that a disabled veteran gets. NOBODY is going to look good throwing a tantrum and proclaiming they deserve more than a guy, who became totally disabled from an IED explosion, because he drove a school bus for fifteen years.

People should be given enough to get by, but they shouldn't have the right to run cities and states into the ground with economic vampirism. Residents will move rather than paying twice as much taxes for no return on investment to keep up with these outrageous pension amounts.
Screw that, I think veterans should get more for their pension than some public bureaucrat that did nothing but collect tax money from the public while sitting on their ass all day. In fact I think the bus driver, who has to put up with roudy school kids daily, should get more than the cushy mayor's staff or whatnot.
