You're delusional.StCapps wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:25 amHe put better numbers in the NCAA than McAvoy dude, and he's gotten a lot better defensively. He ain't that small, you're sleeping on Makar.

Check the stats motherfucker. You said he's filled out, and he was 187 pounds when he was drafted. He tore college hockey a new asshole as a sophmore, McAvoy never did.
What are these supposed red flags that make you think he ain't that good, I'm not seeing them. He ain't that small, he ain't that bad defensively, I think you're sleeping on him big time.

He's hasn't played a shift, but he's already McAvoy.StCapps wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:26 amCheck the stats motherfucker. You said he's filled out, and he was 187 pounds when he was drafted. McAvoy didn't play a shift, and he was McAvoy. McAvoy was less impressive before that first shift, than Makar has been before his. Not saying he's a for sure Franchise defensemen or anything, but I think he's good enough to play in the Avs top 4, right out the gate.Smitty-48 wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:30 amHe's hasn't played a shift, but he's already McAvoy.StCapps wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:26 amCheck the stats motherfucker. I think you're jumping the gun, McAvoy is the exception not the rule.StCapps wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:31 amMcAvoy didn't play a shift, and he was McAvoy. I think Makar is one of those rare exceptions too. Not saying McAvoy is the rule, or even that Makar will be as good as McAvoy, but he might be. I think his college numbers as a sophmore don't exactly scream "not that good" to me.Smitty-48 wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:33 amI think you're jumping the gun, McAvoy is the exception not the rule.

I think Makar could score a goal or two, but I see zero evidence that he reads plays and is reliable in his own zone, in the NHL, at playoff pace, like McAvoy was able to do.StCapps wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:33 amI think Makar is one of those rare exceptions too. Well he probably won't be as good as McAvoy defensively, but I don't think he's going to be as bad defensively as you seem to think. Like Makar wasn't just the Hobey Baker winner, he was by far the best player in college hockey, as a sophmore defensemen dude, that's pretty special. Show me anyone else who did that and wasn't that good. He ain't just another Hobey Baker winner, it ain't like that.Smitty-48 wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:38 amI think Makar could score a goal or two, but I see zero evidence that he reads plays and is reliable in his own zone, in the NHL, at playoff pace, like McAvoy was able to do.StCapps wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:33 amI think Makar is one of those rare exceptions too. Have they said that he's actually going to play?StCapps wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:40 amWell he probably won't be as good as McAvoy defensively, but I don't think he's going to be as bad defensively as you seem to think. "Joining the team" doesn't mean they are pulling an NHL starter to throw a rookie into their top four.

He's going to play. But they can't really say anything other big hints at it, until he's actually done playing the National Championship and signs, but once that happens, they'll say it.Smitty-48 wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:44 amHave they said that he's actually going to play?StCapps wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:40 amWell he probably won't be as good as McAvoy defensively, but I don't think he's going to be as bad defensively as you seem to think. They might play him in the bottom six to start, and give him some PP time, but as soon as he puts together a good shift or two they move into the top 4. Or they'll put him in the top four right off the hop.
