Before I got out in 2013 I could no longer authorize that to happen officially. But NCO's were still doing it off the books and the Newly Promoted asked for the honor of Walking the Gauntlet.

My NCOs got me in the hall the day after I made points. They knew they couldn't do it during the promotion, so they had me standing in the hall outside the platoon office for some made up excuse, and they all came down the hall in file while I was standing there at parade rest waiting to be called in.

It was a reverse gauntlet. I stood there and took the hits as they filed past. Good memory.

Yeah I remember doing it, but it was at squad/platoon level. No officer or 1st was in sight and the opposite sex had to use one finger only.
