Putin is starting to seem a little unhinged now

he's not his usual calm, cool, collected self

he is getting enraged now

demanding that the Ukrainian military stage a coup de'tat to overthrow the government and negotiate

the Ukrainians have flipped the script with the general mobilization of the entire population

this has gotten much bigger than the Russians were expecting

but they have reportedly only deployed one third of their immediately available troops so far

relying heavily on airpower, missiles & artillery instead

so on the one hand the Ukrainians are slowing them down

on the other hand that is only going to force Putin to escalate, since he is totally committed now

meanwhile the EU is balking on sanctions already

Russian oil is still flowing, they aren't going to sanction the oil & gas

the sanctions they have ordered, are going to take 30 days before they even kick in

and Germany, Italy & Belgium are now opposing kicking Russia out of the SWIFT banking system

so Russia has a reason to massively escalate with the resources to do it

meanwhile Washington is drifting aimlessly under Biden

this continues to get bigger & bigger by the hour

the Russian army didn't mutiny in a decade in Afghanistan

and they didn't mutiny in a disastrous war in Chechnya neither

so expecting the Russian army to mutiny in less than a week of this ?

sounds pretty implausible

yeah, not seeing that neither

one, the regime in Russia doesn't have anybody to replace Putin

but also Putin will kill you & your whole family too, horribly, polonium in your tea

so I think he probably retains expansive intimidation factor yet

in terms of Ukraine rolling over ?

sounds like he thinks that is quite possible, appealing directly to their military to overthrow Zelensky

what Zelensky is offering is pretty bleak after all, everybody fight to the death in the forlorn hope
