I don't spend money on things that are meant to impress other people but I still spend as much as I want on the things that give me warm-n-fuzzies, and even though computers don't do that for me anymore, I can remember a time when they did. I always bought a $2K computer, and it was worth it to me. Loved them fuckers.

Quality of life increases due to technical advancements is their main justification for the rape of the middle and lower classes. You take a lot for granted. How many generations back do you have to go to find direct ancestors without electricity, clean water, transportation, access to information, &c? Do you think the state drew a line from that generation to your spoiled-brat ass? Or was there some other mysterious factor in play?

By far, the most expensive computer I have ever owned was my 1982 Commodore 64 and the peripherals.

I was obviously taking advantage of the poorest among us when I was buying that with the money I made doing fast food work.
