At this point, politics is Reality TV, Nuke is right, Dwayne The Rock Johnson is the direction the Democrats need to go, maybe not quite that blatantly, but until the Left gets themselves a Hulk Hogan of their very own, the Right will continue to Hulk Hogan them into the dirt, get a clue Lefties, it's not 1937 anymore, in this day and age, the GOP would mop the floor with FDR.

Wouldn't make me sad, FDR was a Commie sympathizer who fell under the spell of Joe Stalin, and the New Deal was actually a bust, he was saved by Winston Churchill and World War Two, but you can't pull that out of your ass anymore, what with hydrogen bombs n' all.jediuser598 wrote:Trump would mop the floor with FDR, sad thing eh?Smitty-48 wrote:At this point, politics is Reality TV, Nuke is right, Dwayne The Rock Johnson is the direction the Democrats need to go, maybe not quite that blatantly, but until the Left gets themselves a Hulk Hogan of their very own, the Right will continue to Hulk Hogan them into the dirt, get a clue Lefties, it's not 1937 anymore, in this day and age, the GOP would mop the floor with FDR.
He did after all, get 400,000 Americans killed, in a war that they didn't even want to fight, and arguably didn't even have to, so FDR was great for Great Britain, but was he really all that great for America? Meh.

Re: Russia! Russia!! Russia!!!
Direct result of FDR joining the British in embargoing the Japanese over their invasion of China, America struck first, Japan was simply forced to respond, when America threatened their lifeline from the oil fields, when FDR sided with British, all of the British Empire's enemies became America's by default, but America did not actually have to go that way, and in fact, it was rather un-American, to try to prop up the British Empire after all, Imperial Japan, Imperial Britain, not much difference in the end, the Japanese were not bringing democracy to the British Empire, that's true, but neither were the British, and neither were the Soviets.jediuser598 wrote:Eh?Smitty-48 wrote:Wouldn't make me sad, FDR was a Commie sympathizer who fell under the spell of Joe Stalin, and the New Deal was actually a bust, he was saved by Winston Churchill and World War Two, but you can't pull that out of your ass anymore, what with hydrogen bombs n' all.jediuser598 wrote:

All in all, seemed to turn out pretty well. America the sole world power. Who was more helped, Britain or United States?

The United States was already the preeminent economic world power, having eclipsed the British and French in World War One, there was no reason to get 400,000 Americans killed for the British Empire, for America to have ended up where it ended up, last man standing in the wreckage of a world war, lender of last resort, that was going to happen in any case.jediuser598 wrote:All in all, seemed to turn out pretty well. Bear in mind, 400,000 Americans killed 1941-1945, that would be like 1,000,000 Americans being killed with the population you have now.

Re: Russia! Russia!! Russia!!!
So you have a Cold War with the Nazis and Japanese, instead of a Cold War with the Soviets and Chinese? Meh, seems about the same, except the Germans and Japanese were far more likely to have tried to get along with America than the Communists did, so perhaps no Cold War at all after all.jediuser598 wrote:In the wreckage of a world war where Germany is in control of Europe, Japan in control of the pacific, The British, French, Russian, and Chinese thrown down? Re: Russia! Russia!! Russia!!!
I mean, let's get real here, due to the Soviet menace at the end of the war, America immediately flipped 180 degrees and made the Nazis into allies, not just Germans, America backed fascist regimes the world over, just to prevent them from falling to the Communists, so turns out the Nazis were far more easier to get along with after all, than the Warhawks of 1941 had surmised.
From America's point of view, what was really the big beef with the Nazis? They were fervently anti-Communist illiberal democratic industrialists, who had Jew Crow laws, they weren't America's sworn enemies, they saw America as a model to emulate, Soviet Russia, merely their Wild East, to America's Wild West.
The Nazis didn't even hate the British, they loved the British, they never wanted a war with Britain, they wanted to emulate Britain too, they wanted to cut a deal with Britian, just like they wanted to cut a deal with America, they wanted a place in the sun, sure, but they didn't want to take it from Britian nor America, they wanted to take it from the Soviets, America and Britains sworn enemies, the Nazis were America and Britains natural allies, and as soon as the war was over, that's what they went straight back to being, declaring that the only reason America and Britian had had a beef with Germany in the first place, was the Jewish Bankers coming between them.
America and Britain could have very easily backed the Nazis against the Soviets, and left the Chinese Communists to the mercy of Japan, and ended up with everything America has now, to include an EU run by the Germans, and a Pac-Rim alliance led by Japan, except perhaps with no Korean War, no Cuban Missile Crisis, and most of all, no Vietnam War, and with no Vietnam War, no divided America as you see today.
The Communists are defeated, the Germans lead Europe, Japan leads the Asia Pacific, and America remains the preeminent economic power, without ever having to have a Cold War, which in the end is the catalyst of all that is dysfunctional in America today? What was it again, that made FDR so great for America? ICBM's on 15 minutes notice to launch to armageddon, still to this day? Whoopie. America cracked down the middle, over a war for French Indochina, even now, 40 years after it ended? Hooray. A massive, bloated, overweaning federal government, which is a greater threat to American prosperity and liberty than the Nazis and Soviets combined? Yeah, great, thanks FDR.
"My dear Mister Stalin..." said he, FDR asserted that the Soviets led by Stalin, were going to be America's greatest allies, the "Greatest Democrat President", was a Stalinist stooge... but suddenly the Democrats are declaring Donald Trump to be "treasonous"? lol.
I mean, sure, he got that Manhattan Project done, mind you, the New Dealers were so lousy with Commie sympathizers, they ended up staffing the program with them, and they then promptly ran out and handed the plans over to Stalin, in the name of "world peace"
Fuckin' Lefties, leftarded then, leftarded now, undercover America hating then, undercover America hating now, they never change.
