This whole idea that the young vote for the Left therefore the future is Left is flawed by the fact that when people grow up, pay taxes, own property, and have children, the whole generation shifts to the Right therein, so by the time the Millenials are rid of the yoke of their Baby Boomer progenitors, they won't be the Bernie Bros anymore.

That being said, they'll still be stuck with the Baby Boomers voting them down for many more elections yet.

Truth. I find that once you have skin in the game, (wife, kids, etc.) you tend to slide to the right. The first election I could vote in was Obama/McCain, and I fell for the Hope and Change (and to spite the legit racists around me who were complaining.) in 2012, my vote changed.

Truly strange that this is so little spoken of. I went through the same transition. Like DB said, have some daughters, that will change your perspective.

When it's just you, envy & resentment are primary motivators. When you've sacrificed your personal identity for your family, rational thought seeps in.

Must be daytime. It's easy to feel empathy for those who, like yourself, have spent nothing. Once you're a spender, everything takes on a different light.

Therein; in that place, document, or respect. Synonym; in that respect; in that matter.

You're not interesting, and yet you seek attention therein; in that respect; in that matter.

I attract attention, including uninteresting people who are want to be anke biters therein; in that respect; in that matter.

For the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them; but the transgressors shall fall therein.

It happened to me too, however it was socially. I still am pretty hard left economically

OK...

I'm back in.

+1 and +1 to Bjorn...

The problem is the polarization...

And the polarization is in full display in this thread.

There is a segment on each side that sees the other side as the problem.
The polarizing left calls this side "fascists"... They paint Trump as Hitler or Mussolini.

The polarizing right calls the "problem side" commies, or SJWs or marxists.

Once the enemy is identified, the solution is rooting out the other side and destroying them.

With this kind of polarization there can be no dialogue, no compromise, no negotiation.

It leads to a poverty of ideas and essentially gridlock and defeatism... this mentality would rather shut down the system entirely than to be seen giving the other side any credit at all.

So I stand with Bjorn and Nickel on the side of finding common ground and calling out the extremists... when they engage in extremism.

I'll engage with Smitty when he talks sense which he often does...
But when he is Bolshie witch hunting...
