He doesn't check in on you? He doesn't help you out?
He dropped by to see my son while I was going through some tough times and gave me 2k cash.
That's it? My Da dropped literally millions on me, and you get a lousy two grand?
I'm playing the long game. My grandma gave me 200 bucks for my inheritance but I think they may have given my uncle the ranch. I just have to wait him out. He will die childless and syphilis ridden soon enough. This is how you play the long game mein brudder

Indeed. My Da just wanted to be da Man for his sons, and he came through many times over, so it frankly makes his death far less tragic, tho I miss him everyday.

Me neither on both counts, but parents are pretty fucked up when it comes to helping kids when it will make a difference. The same amount that would be "meh" when you're 60 could be life changing when you're 30. It was for my wife and I. The best plan is for wealth to skip generations so you get from your gramps when you really need it, that was a chunk of our 1st downpayment. But that requires you not still be a young fucking idiot, and ND is still challenged in that.
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

You can give me some money too if you like.

Apparently my dad is saving some money in some kind of tax vehicle for my son's tuition. He swears by college. He didn't go to college until his job required him to. He started off as a pipe fitter now he is some kind of CEO in an international company.

Idk. I think that's cool. Clearly, saving money for my son is beyond my ability. I have my doubts about the efficacy of college but whatever. Boomers gonna boom.

I don't judge.

Like Marty says, I won the Lucktocracy.

Divine Watchmaker provides.

Clearly, however, the God of the Hebrews has decreed that Dukenog need wander the wilderness some more.

Not my place to interfere with the will of the Lord.
