No, I'm agitating for a conversation about how these events could be made less deadly or even stopped from happening. Turns out that conversation can't take place because of freedoms and rights. Sad.

What sort of slippery-slope, restrictive, batty ass legislation are you going to pass that's going to stop lunatics from committing gun violence?

Because no matter what you do to us legal gun owners, there will still be lunatics and there will still be 300 million guns in this nation.

Is that a genuine request for suggestions or just an invitation to another round of dead end arguments ending in insults and demands for the continuation of some vague 240 year old rights some dead guys who had no concept of the massacres which their amendment would cause granted your ancestors.

Within that nation, you have homicidal maniacs who will use guns to kill people.

Solve the problem.

First of all that's not the problem under discussion. Mass shootings by the mentally ill using high powered (trigger warning) assault rifles is what needs to be discussed.

Sure you will never get all the guns out of America. I've never even suggested that. What you could do though is try to reduce the number of these military style weapons in circulation. You could try to restrict the amount of ammunition it's possible to buy. You could have metal detectors in public places to make it harder to move large arsenals into them. You could restrict access to guns for the mentally ill.
None of these suggestions are going to be foolproof and at the end of the day they will not stop every maniac but every time one of these events happen the response is always "nothing can be done" . I don't believe that nothing can be done, I do believe that many people don't even want to try though.

In other words, if we all lived in prison, we wouldn't have to worry about this. Got it.

Not even close. For western women, you can't forget the numbers of women who die because of abortion or complications that arise from them. Many of our women are terrible alcoholics and drug addicts now. Then there is their mental health deterioration from leading unhappy lives.

Don't get the wrong impression from all the gibs and privileges they amassed in recent decades. Being a woman in our time and culture kind of sucks. It's lonely and alienating.

Every woman of my generation I know is what I would consider an alcoholic at worst, heavy drinker at best.

They never go a day without a drink, can't do any activities without adding wine, have no real hobbies besides drinking, and have massive mood problems due to withdrawal symptoms. Add to the fact that half of them will take Xanax or Adderall like candy if given the choice

Hell, I was at Disney California Adventure yesterday waiting in the beer line for Mickey pretzels and I was the only man in line. I also was the only person who didn't order a drink.

Maybe I just look down on it more because I'm pretty much a teetotaler at this point

Your wife? Not trying to be a dick but calling out a whole generation of women just begs the question. Me? I know a lot of guys that were ridiculous heavy drinkers and now they don't at all and most dont miss it. Many of the women I know are pretty steady drinkers not heavy.

It's not a difference. The guys I knew in the military drank crazy amounts of alcohol back in the day. Most of us stopped drinking for the most part. There are a few alcoholics. I encounter far more women in my age range who are alcoholics than men. It makes sense when you consider the plummeting happiness of women since the 1960s. The more feminism they get, the more miserable they become. It's sad that it is so difficult to convince them to see it for what it is.

I suspect in about fifteen years you will see an epidemic of millennial women offing themselves with alcohol and drugs. Wait till they truly realize they will be alone for the rest of their lives. I have my doubts women can handle that like us. Men are like, fuck yeah, been there, done that, now I am free to do what I want. Women tend to lose it and publish the perennial over-forty feminist "why won't men date me?!" articles in liberal news sites.

Their culture also encourages it. Look at this current fashion of block letters on cups, t-shirts, bags, etc. They either have some false-empowering message, something about fashion icons, or most likely, something about wine and drinking.

Alcohol is so bad too; people think it helps the sadness or emptiness go away when all it does is actually convert the body into having physical depression.
