There is no way plastic is favorable to paper.

In my opinion, StA is just being his usual self. I really don't believe he believes that plastic is better than paper. He is just trolling this thread because California outlawed plastic drinking straws and Mont agrees with the law.

Our second snipe hunting trip in the late spring should be down by the paper mill near Counce. You greenies will absolutely love that trip. (Don't forget your snake boots.) :goteam: :drunk:

Been there done that. Had an uncle that worked at a plant for 20+ years. When you look at the total life cycle of both products, wood and fiber products are favorable.Speaker to Animals wrote:Take a trip to a paper factory someday.

That is one of the most polluting industries in the world. Paper is NOT better than plastic, by a long shot. The total environmental impact of all the economic activity that leads to your paper straw is pretty fucking awful, actually. It's just stupid and willful ignorance of the environmentalist's feels-based politics.
That's not to say plastic is great stuff, but that literally criminalizing plastic straws for paper straws if fucking retarded. It's even more stupid than trying to force people to use paper bags rather than plastic bags, when paper bags are even worse for the environment.

There is always a bad smell around those plants but it still doesn't mean that plastic is better than wood. Plastics can be good for long-term use and/or multiple uses (like plates and glass). Although, short-term use/one time uses shouldn't be plastic but something that is biodegradable, IMO.

It's the entire chain of economic activities you have to look at, Penner. You just don't get it because you are fixated on the very visible blight of plastic garbage, and you are too intellectually lazy to learn about everything else that comes out of these economic processes.

Paper is better than plastic because it's biodegradable. People have been comparing the two for decades and have come to the conclusion that plastic isn't good for the environment. Not to mention that things like plastic bottles have been given off chemicals like BPA- an endocrine chemical- also harming the humans who are drinking the stuff.
