Nylander looked good.
Matthews looked good.
Nobody had the Boston Flu.
They threw the switch.
That's quite encouraging.
I still don't think we are good enough to go all the way.
None the less, just keep the season going for as long as you can.
Preferably until the actually warm weather comes.

Makar and UMass going for the national title. Makar will probably make his NHL debut in Game 3. Not expecting Makar to save the Avs in this series or anything, but would be sweet if he did.

Another encouraging subplot in the game last night was the play of the fourth line.
Particularly Freddie Gauthier.
Not just playing center for the Leafs, but playing well in the playoffs on the road in Boston.
Former 21st overall pick who was chosen too high by Brian Burke.
None the less, he's finally panning out in terms of doing what he was drafted to do.
The cake baked in the A and now he's not just a useful asset, he's the only 4C option they have.
The Leafs now have four centers who were drafted in the first round and developed internally.
Matthews 1st overall. Kadri 7th overall. Nylander 8th overall. Gauthier 21st overall.
Because 21st overall is such a crapshoot, if you end up with a Gauthier playing well in the playoffs from that?
That actually turns out to be a reasonably decent pick, since plenty of late 1st rounders are complete busts.

Of course Columbus did go up 2-0 in the series against Washington last year, and the latter went on to win the cup, so can't write off Tampa yet, even if lose tonight.

Hedman hasn't looked good since being injured, McDonagh has lost a step.

He got danced by David Savard. David Savard doesn't actually dance. Hedman is not himself.
It's like he's avoiding contact. He's tentative. "Upper body injury"
