Yes, I agree. That's why I cited the Post article.

If they want to be taken seriously as a news organization, they should write articles that give me some information about what the government is actually doing. Instead they just whip up fear with some insinuations from a butthurt Democrat about an imaginary future policy.

When Trump compared the leaks to Nazi Germany, he was lambasted by the press. Do you really not remember the tone of those articles? "Trump attacks intelligence community--compares them to Nazis!" Then when a Democrat does the same thing, it's all concern trolling. "I'm not comparing this President to the Nazis, but seriously, this is like the Nazis, guys."

It's not so much Trump that needs defending as it is the country that needs defending. We need to defend ourselves against these propagandists, because they clearly don't have our interests in mind. Part of that process is vigilantly calling out this hypocrisy. Bias is okay. But these organizations masquerade as unbiased information sources, and they clearly are not.

Aside from the exclamation mark, "Trump attacks intelligence community--compares them to Nazis!" is that not an accurate assessment of what Trump tweeted? Why would they bother to polish up his tweets? The media are not his public relations workers. Go back and look at several random mainstream articles of that story that are not editorials. Find anything but a dry, dispassionate reporting of facts and post them here.

Think about it from a journalist's perspective. Trump's words and actions are more compelling than anything a journalist could insinuate through tone. All they have to do is set it down dry and dispassionately, add a little background and quote somebody and it's already as compelling as it could possibly be. Why mess with it when you can give him enough rope to hang himself?

I don't know, I feel like if anyone is obviously biased for or against Trump it's the people on this forum. You may say the media was inappropriately kid gloves with Obama, (although I and many others came to the conclusion that he was not really a reformer and was actually business as usual simply by reading the news critically) but that does not make the current treatment of Trump inappropriate at all.

A perfect monolithic media which has no biases never was and never will be. If you want a more perfect media, at least call them out when they're actually doing something wrong, not just doing their jobs.

Reports coming out Trump Admin put out the memo to smoke out leakers. They 'colored the water' issued the 100k National Guard memo to 10 people, but each copy was unique in a different way. A typo, one word changed, etc.

Find me a source. So far I have four days worth of archived /pol/ threads stating they were going to feed the media lies and it would be released Friday night. Haven't found anything more credible than that so far though.
