Meh. But I am sure parents would want their children to be able to read those "how to farm" books, won't they?
We will tend to that ourselves, thank you.

I couldn't find the right one. Imagine that scene, but they're in a cabin on top of a mountain in Kentucky, with no schools.

I mean... humans can survive without basic literacy, just not in large numbers.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

Yeah, those home schooerls really didn't have a lot of time to teach kids. That was why they would bother sending their kids to those one room school buildings back in the day.

Lincoln had no school growing up. He learned to read using the only book in the cabin: The Bible.

He was probably the most gifted rhetor to become President.

I guess Penner thinks those pioneers arrived on the frontier and found a bunch of school houses waiting for them, with teachers and all.

I remember posting a link to this article on the old forum.
http://energyskeptic.com/2015/dmitry-or ... -collapse/
It's a pretty long text about lessons learned during the Soviet collapse and how they can be useful in a future American context.
There is a lot in the beginning about peak oil that can be skimmed through. It was written 12 years ago. Lots of interesting stuff in there.
