Dude, I was thinking about this last night. I thought that sort of thing was already going on. I doubt this is the first of it. You don't show your hand like that on the first run.C-Mag wrote:Reports coming out Trump Admin put out the memo to smoke out leakers. Re: Fake News
The media's job is to present the facts in the most compelling way possible. That's what they've done here, I see nothing wrong or unusual about it, indeed, everyone must read between the lines to get intelligent analysis. A critically thinking person has no trouble looking at the facts and separating them from the "compelling." How else would you have come to the conclusion that those democrats were being reprehensible in their hyperbole? Because the WP reported on it.Calculus Man wrote:This is typical of how this is being reported. This was the fourth link on Google News.

Even when they don't lie outright, and there was definitely some of that going on earlier, they can't resist using the most reprehensibe hyperbole.
It is not reprehensible to quote Democrats being hysterical if that's what they're being, you are free to use your judgment, which you have. This is not a trick on the American people, contrary to popular belief. A news article is not responsible if information confirms the biases of others, their job is not to stop people from developing biases, nor does any reasonable person expect news sources to be perfectly unbiased. People are responsible for thinking for themselves, as always.
Donald Trump doesn't need to be defended from the media, he uses the media, they use him, what matters to you and me is what the government is actually doing. Now some are speculating that Trump is deliberately spreading misinformation (to make the media look bad?) I may consider that to be smart on Trump's part, but unless I am willing to cut off my nose to spite my face, I would consider this bad, since I like information to be true, especially when it comes from my government and news sources.

Press Release (English)
16 February, 2017
CIA espionage orders for the last French presidential election
All major French political parties were targeted for infiltration by the CIA's human ("HUMINT") and electronic ("SIGINT") spies in the seven months leading up to France's 2012 presidential election. The revelations are contained within three CIA tasking orders published today by WikiLeaks as context for its forth coming CIA Vault 7 series. Named specifically as targets are the French Socialist Party (PS), the National Front (FN) and Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) together with current President Francois Hollande, then President Nicolas Sarkozy, current round one presidential front runner Marine Le Pen, and former presidential candidates Martine Aubry and Dominique Strauss-Khan.

Yes, I agree. That's why I cited the Post article.JohnDonne wrote:what matters to you and me is what the government is actually doing.
If they want to be taken seriously as a news organization, they should write articles that give me some information about what the government is actually doing. Instead they just whip up fear with some insinuations from a butthurt Democrat about an imaginary future policy.
When Trump compared the leaks to Nazi Germany, he was lambasted by the press. Do you really not remember the tone of those articles? "Trump attacks intelligence community--compares them to Nazis!" Then when a Democrat does the same thing, it's all concern trolling. "I'm not comparing this President to the Nazis, but seriously, this is like the Nazis, guys."
It's not so much Trump that needs defending as it is the country that needs defending. We need to defend ourselves against these propagandists, because they clearly don't have our interests in mind. Part of that process is vigilantly calling out this hypocrisy. Bias is okay. But these organizations masquerade as unbiased information sources, and they clearly are not.

Blame Nuke. He's a bad influence. I try to share the message through gospel, and he flips the tables on me and says the Jews weren't actually wrong. Who can fucking react to that shit?C-Mag wrote:Well Fuck you very much
