yeah upon more reflection it's not as dope as i had thought. my feeling was- portraits are difficult to get right and at the end of the day it wasn't a total disaster so i gave it some slack, but after looking for awhile there are some fair criticisms with not only the composition but the technique too, as have been pointed out in the threadsGrumpyCatFace wrote:I really have to believe he didn't see it ahead of the unveiling. And why on earth would you take such a risk with your forever-portrait in the Smithsonian?? I'd have 3 people working on different versions, and pick the best one before I showed it anywhere.
also it looks out of place in comparison with the other official portraits
