Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit is tackling Metallica. The 400 Unit is turning into one of the great backup bands of history, like Crazy Horse, The E street Band, The Heartbreakers, The Bad Seeds and The Wailers.

For a short while. The Band was with Dylan for just one tour and then some important studio work, but it was just a stint when all is said and done. Same with the Eagles and Linda.
A lesser known pairing is the Hooters and Cyndi Lauper. When you know it, it's pretty obvious.

Before the Band became the Band, when they were The Hawks. Dylan just recorded one track with the original Hawks. It's one of my favorites.
