It's shunted into the compartment

Mourn the dead when the war is over

All that matters is the living

Maintain DEFCON 1
The compartment is necessary only when we under active fire...

In between volleys, we can bury the dead, and the chaplain can do his small bit to minister to the souls of the living and the dead.

Ready when you are. We can raise a toast.

Peace, bro.

He wasn't in the army, but he was the Drum Major in the cadet corps at Kings-Hants private school

He was a huge guy, I used to watch him lead the pipe & drums on parade when I was in short pants

Wishing him peace on his travels...
And to you and yours.

He fell to the enemy... may we all double down on our resistance to the foe.

Soldier on comrades.

He was a Nova Scotia Good Ol' Boy

Before he got married, all he ever drove was Corvettes

My Da took his Corvettes out and said they were too heavy, my Da liked small race cars like his MG

My family ran a saw mill, my uncle used to drive the loggin truck

He's take me with him and we would drive down the country highways with this huge load of timber

My grandfather was a devout Christian, Evangaline Trail Baptist

So he taught me the basics about a gun, but he never talked about shooting a man

My uncle was the one who started me out on tactical shooting

When I came Down Home for my Nanna's funeral, we went out shooting

But now I was military trained, RCR Battleshool, so I was showing him a thing or two then

His wife, my aunt, she was his high school sweetheart, homecoming queen

I remember the wedding, in the big church in town, she was blazing

She's cool tho, chain smoker, just like me, we got close just by sitting out on the veranda smoking together

My Ma is a huge pothead and so is my aunt and so am I

But my uncle had asthma so he didn't smoke

Me and my Ma and my aunt would get higher than Giraffe pussy, but my uncle barely even had a drink

Once my Ma and my aunt got drunk & stoned, they wanted to go to the bars

So I would go with them as chaperone, riding escort

My uncle would say to me "keep them two country girls out of trouble, boy"
