Can't we have a constantly derailed thread somewhere instead, call it a Pub or something, and a shorthand like "take it to the pub" to put in other threads when they start to drift?
Threads start to drift for a reason, the discussion goes stale, and then derailing breathes life back into the thread. Thread derailment is like a phoenix down, quit your hating. If you want to quarantine all the good discussion in one thread, there is no more sure fire way to kill a thread than that.
Have you seen the dwindling participation in this forum? Your shitposting is not breathing life into anything. It's driving people away, and the discussion here is the worse for it.
Discussion here is vastly superior for it, the dwindling participation is the result of the boring people who cling to boring threads like they are precious. Y'all are driving people away.

You learn to live with it. I was only disappointed for a few seconds when I noticed no one had posted about the latest democrat primary "debate". After all what was there to say about it? Might as well just shitpost about old memories and take some cheap shots at language skills, I guess.

We had a moderator who did that once. Moved off-topic conversations elsewhere. Shit really hit the fan.
Not a bad idea in theory but I bet it just wouldn't happen in practise.
Also, Smitty is his own man. Doesn't take orders unless you outrank him.
Only Hash outranks him here and he's an absentee landlord at the moment.
Hash isn't absentee, he just doesn't want to censor people just because you get mad about off-topic posting, and on-topic posting in your precious threads. Your rogue moderator might have been down with that, but the backlash made her quit the job, good riddance.

Dan Carlin didn't censor people either or allow his moderators to do that, as it should be. You want to nerf the forum, because you're a douche.

Nothing of relevance happened, it was boring, hence the lack of discussion.

I barely post here anymore, so I can't be the one driving people away. I have 2 posts per day average here. You have 11. So who is the boring one driving people away, hmmm? The ones I'd actually like to drive away are still here, so your theory has been debunked.

Hey look, something on topic that's new (someone might as well do it since DB is long gone):

Poll finds sharp swing in opposition to impeachment among independents
https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4 ... dependents
The latest national poll from Emerson College finds 45 percent oppose impeaching President Trump, against 43 percent who support it. That’s a 6-point swing in support from October, when 48 percent of voters supported impeachment and only 44 percent opposed.

More importantly, the poll shows more independents now oppose impeachment than support it, a significant change from Emerson's polling in October. The new poll found 49 percent oppose impeachment compared to 34 percent who support it. In October, 48 percent of independents polled supported impeachment, against 39 percent who opposed.

Since October, Emerson has found Trump’s job approval rating jump by 5 points, from 43 percent to 48 percent.
The Dems have nothing and the people know it.

People like you, lovers of boring discussion, never contributing anything, are driving people away. Me and Smitty are two of the biggest people come to this forum in the first place. Before we showed up, this forum was basically just Hash posting to himself and Jason Simmonds.

The poll is new, but it simply confirms what has already been discussed ad nauseam. The insightful posters around here didn't need a poll to know that was happening long ago. Hell we predicted long before Democrats ever started this impeachment inquiry, that going down this road would obviously backfire on them, that's how old and stale this shit is. Talk to me when something actually happens.

Something actually happening includes: House Democrats impeaching him, and Senate Republicans voting it down. It's all so perfunctory and predictable, even when something happens. Impeachment is boring.

I'm beginning to think it's some kind of damage reduction stunt. There are probably many more than Biden involved in dipping into the Ukraine aid bonanza. This is a smokescreen intended to divert attention.

Look at these two stories.

It's all about those sweet green dollar bills.
