I kind of want to get it over with, myself. Then I have the rest of the year plus-long lock down to do heavy training (which I can't do if I want to keep my immune system up) and hiking all Summer.

Also getting it over with now means I can help neighbors who are more likely to get a tougher case. Once I am immune, I can help them.
Boris is only a year older than me and has all the best doctors but he's still in intensive care with a ventilator at the ready.
I still want to avoid it if possible.
Indeed. I'm retired. I'm not going to impose a prison regime on myself, I don't want to die in jail, thanks

At some point you need to accept the math. You are very unlikely to make it 1.5 years without getting exposed.

Once it happens, you live or you die. But if you live, it's over for you and you can get on with your life.

No need to rush that contact, it is what it is, cross that bridge when it comes

There is no point playing the tough guy in biological warfare

Live in the now, enjoy the little things, there is no preparation for doom other than the grace of the Lord

I'm living my life now far more than in peacetime

I'm in no rush to end this war and get back to bourgeois drudgery

Fuck all that shit

This is as good as it gets, right now

My wife doesn't know if she can ever get motivated to go back to the office

She's getting used to unemployment and thinking about retirement now

This is our dream home with a view

The pandemic has imposed a taste of retirement on her and she's starting to like it

Oh, I don't know.
Most projections are predicting 60-70% infection rates which leaves 30-40% infection-free. Add to that my very-low-density location and better self-isolation than most people I reckon I've got a better than 50/50 chance of avoiding it.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Or you could just let go of the entire line of thought, and live like there's no tomorrow in the now

In my case, I am not alone in this life

I have my vows to my wife

To include not to unnecessarily risk my life

Once you have the qt, there is no more need to be the tough guy

The trick is to not be in the initial 80% that will get it during peak infection where medical resources are stretched.
