Not the same thing. Faith without deeds is a different thing than deeds without faith.Speaker to Animals wrote:James 2:14-26

Faith without works is dead, but also works without faith is useless.Okeefenokee wrote:Not the same thing. Faith without deeds is a different thing than deeds without faith.Speaker to Animals wrote:James 2:14-26
The point is that they go together. Sola fide is bad news. The presumption of salvation I think is very dangerous. You don't get to decide your salvation. But to claim you are saved by faith alone is to say you will be saved simply because you believe you will be saved.
Neither can you simply buy your way into salvation through works or guarantee your salvation simply by believing you will be saved. You must therefore "work out your salvation with fear and trembling."

The Rapture certainly is imo. Even some Evangelicals will say as much. There is actually an interesting history with American Christianity and the scofield bible.

From what I've heard this is where much of it started from.

Seriously, what kind of fucking balls does that take? But while everything has changed for this family, they are still expected to pay for their abandoned home.
“Our landlords say we have to pay rent and late fees and every day it is going up,” Fuentes said. “We are paying rent for somewhere we can’t live in. They said ‘you aren’t the only ones in this situation’, but what are we supposed to do? We don’t have any money. We don’t have anything.”
