In a free an open society, of the type most people of European descent are fortunate to live in, being a minority ain't that big a deal.

Having a cohesive community is very important... you don't need to be in an ethnic majority to have that, nor does it have to be exclusively ethnic.

I get particular chuckles from the "woe is me, I might become a minority in the land I live in, and that's AWFUL!!" Never an empathic thought for all the various peoples who are currently minorities in the the land their ancestors have been in for many generations, some long before Europeans. Reminds me of a grade school altercation I had with a subhuman. He threw milk on me and so I threw some back. His mind exploded. "Why'd you do that???" he howled. "Because you did it to me". He simply could not process it, the notion of other beings having the same rights as him was just not computing. Naturally he resorted to his fists. He would have failed a Gom Jabbar test, just an animal.

Personally, I have little empathy for people who moan about ancestral birthrights, or any other such nonsense.
