Correction: cops are civilians too. They have the same rights that you do, and are supposed to be held accountable to the law no differently than you are.

If you brandish a firearm at somebody you suspect is a shoplifter.. guess what? You go to prison. It doesn't even matter if it's a real shoplifter. That's a crime. That cop committed a fucking crime. I mean.. Hello. McFly? After you get done applying the second blue line punisher decal to your SUV right beneath the molab labe decal, maybe you can consider the fact that cops have to obey the law too??

Treading dangerous waters now. That’s terrorist talk, citizen.

I am sure your solution is that citizens should have to lose their right to self defense because the people you want to have a monopoly on weapons are dumbasses.
Framing this as having anything at all to do with the 2nd is ridiculous. This is about a poorly trained LEO. Full stop. When there's 300 million guns out there, and that not going to change, cops need to know when to draw and when not to. Every time their gun comes out is a potential innocent civilian death because shit happens. If that cop was so poorly trained, what if a couple of teenagers had happened to burst noisily into the store as kids do? Dead kids just another police "oopsie"?
Well I am glad you say that now but all those "what ifs" have nanny state bullshit lurking around the corner. "what if a couple of teenagers had happened to burst noisily into the store as kids do? " That's why people under the age of 18 or better yet 21 shouldn't be allowed in a convenience store without an adult. We have seen this movie before.
Wait, what's nanny state? We have to choose between training cops to be less dangerous to law abiding citizens or preventing minors from entering a store?

Why do they have to go in that store? They can't buy cigarettes or any tobacco products, you don't want them to buy fatty or salty snacks and a soda OMG no, not a soda. You know you want to.

Clubby, are you having some sort of stroke? How do you get from trigger-happy cop to micromanaging what people buy? Or is this simply deflection, because God forbid we should talk about properly training cops and firing the untrainable ones instead of the Second Amendment or salty snacks. K-9 cops spend more time in training and more are flunked out for bad temperament than their human counterparts. Surely we can do better?
