Yet its subway system, the actual subject of the thread, is only 40 years old.

Europeans view transit the way we do highways and roads, a necessary and integral part of their economy, rather than an afterthought "for THOSE PEOPLE", forced on local governments by SJWs.

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

As we may say about the US budget, it's all about priorities and politics, who pays and who gets paid. It's hard to get anything done when sweetheart Union contracts require anything to cost 10 times more than it would cost anywhere else.

I've ridden the tram in Sweden, the subway in Germany, the train in France, of course the tube in Britain. Also: Japan, Brazil, Malaysia, Singapore, China, and more. In the U.S., I’ve ridden a lot of trains, trams & buses in NYC, plus BART & MAX. Super-sucky.

I guess it's the ones I haven't ridden that are good.

Well, who could argue with the social judgements of a rapidly declining, numerically diminishing, and disarmed European culture.

Declining by what standards?
We would be diminishing too if it was up to our "natives".
I'll take a disarmed Europe over the one that caused mayhem around the world for half a millennium.

Buy a ticket and run semi-free in Europe, my puppet.
