He put added pressure, but it was already in the grand scheme of things. Without getting deep into the BS that is the family politics, it comes down to this. The father is removing his sins so his son can rule with a clearer conscious.

It really is probably happening a little faster than it would otherwise, but I think the big thing that is being ignored is that Saudi Arabia is working with Isreal even though the country itself doesn't recognize Isreal as "existing"...
