Girls to be Boy Scouts?

Boy Scouts never made any sense here, Cadets was the way to go, in Cadets, you could drink, you could smoke, you could shoot guns, and do all that camping shit too, I never got why anybody ever bothered with Boy Scouts, that was lame.

Hell, in Cadets, you could get your jump course with the Paratroopers, in such a militaristic country as America, I don't get why the Boy Scouts even exist.

It's an American tradition. Shit on it if you want, (I barely made it to Wolf Scouts before for whatever reason I stopped going,) but it is time honored Americana.

My main beef with BSoA is that there was never really anything after Eagle Scouts. I mean sure, by then you should be nearly an adult and on your way to bigger and better things but I still feel like there should have been a mannerbund like organization after that. I suspect fraternities and Masonic halls filled that roll. I just feel like we really missed out on something by giving up on our mannerbunds almost altogether. Look at the numales now. Trash. Bunch of soy-boys running around limp wristedly throwing their excrement at Nazis.

That's the other thing. If you are a leftist, you have an unending supply of ways to actuate yourself. What if you're not? What is there?

I can tell you right now there has been serious interest amongst churches to create a new scouting program for boys. The Boy Scouts only exist because of the troops affiliated with churches, and it's become plainly obvious that degeneracy has infected this organization all the way to the top.

This might be the catalyst that finally gets the ball rolling.

The majority of troops are affiliated with churches as it is. They have been tbreatening to leave and start a new organization for a while.

It's run by fathers in the various churches, not church ladies, though moms tend to host kids in the cub scouts after school.

My church's troop is run by vets, I think.

Well, you can get away from your mothers, which is the source of most of the helicopter parenting. Fathers can escape them for a while too. That might have been the whole point of the scouts, now that I think about it.


But the idea of the Army establishing something.. that actually has merit. Or, have it DoD in general, and use all the branches to sponsor their own troops and focus on doing associated things with kids. So, if you live on the coast, maybe the USN could sponsor your son's troop where he learns seamanship, survival on the water, etc. The Army troops would be the most fun with war games out in the forest and whatnot. Trump could step in like a hero and get the ball rolling. Once it's started, there's no way the liberals would be able to defund it without major blowback.

I'm glad that I'm not on my own in feeling this way. Seems like the Girl Scouts suck and don't have an equivalent to the rank of Eagle Scout....Well then fucking improve your program and make it a priority to make an Eagle Scout type rank with not easily obtainable goals. Otherwise they need to STFU.

Tragic to witness the beginning of the end of a worthwhile institution, I got a lot out of the scouts as a boy and it likely played a role in my love of outdoor adventure today, the scene and culture will obviously be much different with both sexes and anyone who denies that is extraordinarily naive or insincere.

I wrote about this already, and the responses I got to this were ridiculous...

With the exception of Cub Scouts, genders will still be segregated for the most part. There is just a new program under the Boy Scout corporate name for girls. The Girl Scouts are actually really unhappy about this seeing it as an attempt to steal market share. This is actually a brilliant move that I love. (Assuming I read the article correctly and it will still be segregated packs)

The Girl Scouts have really always been a sub par organization. Remember, the name "Boy Scouts of America" is a company name. A company that will now run a scouting group for girls as well as continue it's completely different scouting group for boys. The article you posted specifically states that cub scouts will be the only group that MAY become co-ed and only if the group isn't large enough to survive on just boys.

There are boy scouts and girl scouts, then WTF is the issue?

Girls go to girl scouts, boys go to boy scouts. I didn't think this was too hard to understand. If you want both boys and girls in one group, create the Scouts of America and see how it plays... otherwise, let each group be what they are meant to be.

The whole point of camp Was camaraderie, doing this that’s not possible. You play together, you slept together, you were in tents together, you got merit badges together. Separating at the end of the night is not what Boy Scouts is all about, or Cub Scouts for that matter.

Boy Scouts are for boys, hence the name.

Cub Scouts are for boys as well since they are the youth version of Boy Scouts. So I really don’t see the justification, or reason for this.

If the Girl Scouts don’t except boys this entire thing should not exist.

Girl Scouts would not be a sub-par entity if they put effort behind it. It took a long time for the Boy Scouts to be one what they are.

Changing that formula would change what made the Boy Scouts what they are today.
