I do structure climbing, but at least with that you have a much more controlled situation

This is gonna sounds mega gay, but I think it is that urge that all men esp young men have to go fight dragons and feel fear and have your decisions matter and contend with nature and have the outcome be in doubt and to overcome. It is real adventure, even though it is contrived. I am not naturally good at it, and taught myself everything.

Not gay, I've battled my share of dragons. I do not do heights. Those pictures make me anxious

I am terrible with heights.

You really have to be a maladapted evolutionary dead-end to be able to deal with heights easily. The only reason you are able to still procreate instead of become bear food at the bottom of some ravine is the human intellect which invented all this gear that lets you do these things without eventually dying.

Now now don't hate, it's unbecoming.

Now really, it is scary to me, really is, in fact, I have stopped my progression intentionally, because I can't handle any more risk/exposure, and climb casually now.

There is one kid out there, Alex Honnold, who literally does lack the fear gene, and free solos (no rope, no protection) the most insane things you could possibly imagine.







He is probably the evolutionary dead-end, though I hope not
