Well you know, 50% of children are girls, why shouldn't a shape shifting alien be a girl once every 13 times?

Why not make a different time traveling character who is female?

The main problem with this kind of dumbassery is not that the lead is female, but that it portrays women as only being heroic or notable if they steal the accomplishments of men.

We see the same thing with a female Thor, or a female James Bond. It says the only way women can achieve what men achieve is by forcing men out, even when it results in failure, to be replaced by a less qualified female character. After all, if women were every bit as heroic as men, they'd have their own original characters.

The whole thing screams of misogyny. Maybe not so much with Dr. Who, since as you said he changes shape every time the actor demands a raise, but the general phenomenon is terribly hateful towards women while the people who push for it attack critics with Orwellian accusations of misogyny.

It's really fucking nuts. There probably exists a market for a completely different show centered around a female time traveler too.

In the original Dr. Who series, they actually played on that to some extent. A female Gallifreyan told I think it was the first doctor not to take a specific tardis because it was buggy...

That could have easily have worked itself into this timeline if they really wanted to stick with canon.

It's not a problem with females - Missy is the best character in years. Better than Capaldo for sure.
Thing is there's a load of bitching nearly every time you get a new Doctor. People invest in the old one and don't like having to start again. Eventually they get to like the new one and the whole routine starts again.
Capaldi was less popular than most but people are still disappointed that he is leaving.I think it is better when the doctor is young like Matt Smith and is more relatable for a young audience but every Doctor (Except Christopher Biggins who killed the franchise for over a decade) eventually becomes loved. It will be the same with Jodie Whittaker.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

The problem is the left is throwing this that there is no canon, when in reality there was, it wasn't until recently (the newest reincarnation of it) that they threw away canon... so all is up for grabs now.

''the left''
It's just writers taking the story in a new direction.

Oh get off it. You know this series has been total leftist propaganda from day one. I have seen like five seasons of it. It's packed with leftist propaganda and virtue signaling.

Regretfully he's right... compared to the 60's-80's version, this new version is a pale comparison to what the original version was because of the "messages" it tries to put in there.

I don't understand how a British show could have a female as a doctor, especially since they are rapidly adopting shariah law. Maybe she will get acid thrown in her face in the first episode for touching a man she isn't married to.

Compare the difference between doctors 9-10, and 11 - 12. That's when the writers changed over from Russell T Davies to Stephan Moffar. The difference is dramatic.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.
