It's not a question of being a tough guy, you've got women and children in the breach. Stiff upper lip in the ranks? Of course, but I don't expect the women and children to take the brunt, the police shot the guy, after he had killed a Canadian woman in the prime of her life, would I make the extra effort, would I put more troops in, would I cover as many bases as I could, with my people in the breach? Course I would, stiff upper lip to those who would be squeamish about it, for political reasons, or because they are bleeding hearts.

"Some losers in Vans" It was an organized paramilitary attack, launched by IS operatives who were on an MI5 watchlist, actually had one of them in custody, but then you let him go. Nice job that, maybe could have kept in custody, if you'd had the balls to militarize the operation.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

It's not a question of panic, it's just a question of doing the right thing by your people, the sums they pay to defend Iraqis or whoever from terrorists overseas, but when those terrorists come to Britain, everythings done on the cheap, 2500 troops, so somebody is getting military protection, but it's just the politicians down at Whitehall, seriously, if the Canadian politicians went as far as calling out troops, but only for their protection and not the public's? That would be political suicide, if you call out the troops, you call them out for everybody, not just the politicians.

I really am beginning to wonder if their government wants this for some reason. Their behavior lately seems too obviously inept unless they want sectarian violence for some reason.

Maybe they want to legislate away more human rights or something like that?

It's no different from Comey putting a confessed Isis collaborator on a plane with an AR imo

I think they're just bean counting, it's the same as with Grenfell Towers, they're just being cheap, they don't want to spend big money, they just want to slap some claddiing on it and hope for the best, this is how the British government is, they're unbelievably cheap, they'll cut any corner, just to save a dime, make no mistake, everything is about bean counting in Britain, the MOD budget is so tight, they've cut it right to the bone, they just don't want to spend the money, nothing more than that.

If the shit hits the fan and they aren't prepared for it? Public inquiry, then blame some underlings.

They might also not want to admit they made a huge mistake with this refugee policy.

You know, the way Monty is reacting, I'm starting to think you're right, but also they're just cheap, trust me, I served with the Brits, their inclination to cut corners and fuck the troops, is breathtaking.
