All it takes is one crazy bad person to ruin your breathing. That's true anywhere. Now, it's true that there's places in San Francisco that makes afraid for my wallet, and a few blocks at night for my cranium. But this attitude of "the cities are all murderous Hellscapes" is goofy.

Now if we're talking about places like New Orleans especially outside the tourist zone...

The cities are a special place for inhumanity and lack of boundaries. It's always been like that.

We have all this technology now and yet we have done nothing to disperse from the cities, even though they make us unhappy and sow discord and dysfunction in a society.

What's the point, really, of a large metropolis when we have an broadband internet, virtual telepresence, VPN cards and smart phones?

Would you rather commute to your cube farm through a gray landscape of drab buildings, competing with every other unhappy person on the road, trying to make it to the train station in time to catch the express line, and hoping you don't have to sit next to a homeless person who smells like piss and vomit and might randomly slash you with a knife? Or would you rather wake up in your larger home in a small town in a region of your choosing, open the curtains to a decent view, and fire up your workstation to get to work?

That's a much better idea, unfortunately its not a reality yet for most

Think about the kinds of "liberal" ideologies that come out of the cities. This lack of boundaries, physical and moral, is an urban phenomenon, and always has been. This goes back to the city of Rome in antiquity or even Athens.

The real division in the cultural war is over boundaries. Degenerate urbanites oppose boundaries. The rest of America likes boundaries. They like fences between neighboring properties. They like moral boundaries separating decent behavior from degeneracy. Urbanites get angry when other Americans even hold the opinion that some behavior is degenerate. They don't respect moral or physical boundaries at all.

In the past, we needed cities in order to produce culture, science, and other fruits of civilization. But I don't think that is necessary any longer. We can have those things without the corrosive effects of dense urban populations.

There is a deeper conflict going on here.

The psychological and even genetic outcomes of people living in such dense and close proximity for generations, I think, is something we don't really understand very well. I suspect it has an enormous impact on politics.

Let's be realistic. Just living in an environment like Portland for a long time is going to turn you beta. I bet you a dollar that, if somebody were to test testosterone levels, they'd see a statistically significant shift towards lower testosterone levels in Portland males compared to males who live in rural Oregon.

And just being a veteran won't save you either. One of the men I served with in my old squadron has lived in that area for a long time now. He has been signalling Antifa crap for a year now on FB and he looks exactly like one of those little Antifa betas now too.

Even in my own experience with Chicago. I lost a huge amount of muscle mass after I moved there to live with crazy. Then, when I left, my muscle mass began to return when I moved to a more rural area. And where I live now, there is a big distinction between the kinds of men you will find living in nearby Asheville compared to out here in the sticks.

This simple fact of life is right there in front of our eyes every day. I am not sure you can reasonably deny it.

The main exception I can think of is the working and underclass of a city like Chicago. But those guys live in a kind of subculture that is pretty violent, which drives up testosterone. I don't think most of us would choose to live like that if we had not already been raised in it. And it's a dying subculture at that.
