This white Cuban dude who was my student body president described himself regularly as a "man of color". Regularly brought it up when someone criticized him. But the fucker had lighter skin than me, and fucking blue eyes! lol

The ones that fled were predominantly white, dude. Cuba was a huge slave colony of the Spanish empire. Most of the people who came here in the 50s and 60s were no less white than a freaking Spaniard.
