Nope. Just a big boom on the surface, as I remember.

Nope. Just a big boom on the surface, as I remember.

Yep. No planets blow up. Massive craters would be left, but the Jedda (spelling?) explosion was at something like 1/12 power, and the database explosion was single reactor ignition too. Calling them small areas is a bit of a stretch, but the planets are definitely still there later.

We should build one. We could set up an array of space mirrors that all angle to direct huge amounts of solar energy into one focusing mirror in Earth's orbit that directs the energy towards one spot on the planet. We could call it Archimedes.

Guess not too many posters watch movies that much. More into tv shows? I'd think most of you Alt-Right or Libertarian guys would really dig a movie like Hell or High Water? Guess not.

I watch a lot of movies. I just rarely think about which one was the best.

I thought it was real common for people that watch movies to have favorites.

Arrival was original and inspiring in a lot of ways. Great message overall. Linguistics is fascinating stuff really.

I've probably only seen 2-3 musicals before but I'm going to see La La Land soon. It won a slew of awards but of course was beat out for best picture by Moonlight (*main character is an urban gay black dude)...interesting scene at the Oscars ceremony declaring the wrong winner.

I just finished watching it (online, for free.) There's only one person in the whole world who can reach out to the aliens and the Chinese, and she happens to be a beautiful, young woman with a tragic past... but she is brave enough, smart enough, and strong enough, to overcome a world ruled by cowardly, stupid, and weak men--because she can see the future.
