For Michelles last week on the panel, we delve into the topic of the Napoleonic Wars, in which Napoleon goes on a grand European(and Middle Eastern) tour to fight for the glory of France.

Join us, as we talk about everything from the slaughter at Austerlitz to the size of cannonballs, only on Honoring Our History.

I would just skip the first fifteen or so minutes where the woman narrates the basic overview we are all familiar with. Some interesting nuggets of history discussed with the guest afterwards.
36:00 Sweden's flagship Mars caught fire in its first battle and exploded killing ~1,000 men which includes the crew and hundreds of boarders. It was one of the largest ships in the world at the time.

Have any of you guys read Andrew Roberts' Napoleon book? It is in on my reading list and it looks good. If you have read it, what did you think?

Does Roberts think Napoleon was good or bad for France overall? Does he have a positive opinion of the man?

To simply greatly overall he thinks he was more good than bad overall. There's several interviews/public talks, and Q/A on him on his book tour a few years back on Youtube. Check them out. Judge for yourself. He has his opinions but they are expert opinions.

True that. I have no strong opinions about Napoleon, but he made such a big mark on Europe in his time. That is fascinating to me. I am a fairly average person, so it always interests me to read about exceptional people.
