Canada, do WTF you want to do. Don't do what the US wants, what the EU wants, and if you are truly sovereign, don't do what the Crown wants.

With my entire life as a US citizen, I have barely formed a base understanding of what I expect of my country and where I'd like to see it go. It's overly arrogant and condescending to tell another country what direction they need to go, and frankly even spend too much time telling another countries citizens what's in their best interests. Hell I don't care if Canada decides to kick off the British Crown and fall under the Russian crown.

For me it's fine to point out where you might see problems and discuss it with them, but getting into a dust up over what is best for their country is misguided.

My feelings haven't changed about self-determination. And I had dust ups before with my Canadian friends and military allies on old DCF. The way I put it back there was, it's my responsibility to straighten out my family (American and it's citizens) not someone outside the family. That being said. It's valuable to gain perspective outside the family, see the things the family is blind to.

Crossing the line can be obvious or more grey.

While in general I find the input of the international community valuable to our discussions, at times it gets a bit much for me. It is very valuable to hear what others think about your organization, whatever it is. All organizations be they Nations, Institutes of learning or businesses have blind spots. Outside viewers often easily spot these blind spots. Just as you as a political outsider you were able to clearly see Hillary was going to lose the election while all the Establishment clowns were blind to it.

To me commenting is far different than telling people what to do.
