This is what libertarianism does to you, kids.

You will be a washed up drug addict voting third party for Hillary Clinton when they are done with you.

Yeah. That's true. Fuck it. Me too.

As someone who has spent a lot of time in drug culture, and watched two people overdose (I was able to bring one back, not the other though), I am pretty split on legalization. Most overdoses happen because there is a big difference in potency from what you are used to. From what I hear, dope laced with fentanyl is the big culprit lately, but any big change in potency can make you fall out. Legalization would at least put a stop to that. But, on the other side, lots of people never try heroin because they never have access to it. Big cities like Chicago or LA might have street dealers willing to deal with anyone, but in most places, you have to know someone. So legalization will almost certainly result in more people trying, and liking heroin. I think the cons of legalization outweigh the pros, at least for the really hard stuff. Legalization of weed and psychedelics seems obvious though. No one is overdosing on weed or acid.

Well except for Syd Barrett. I think overdosing on LSD is possible. Definitely heard the urban legends growing up. Shrooms though... nah.
