Just don’t forget to send your toys spinning uncontrollably when they fire a projectile. Recoil is a serious problem with space guns.
Inertia does not exist!
Not the case, the XV-11Bravo is g-limited.

There is a g-seat to reduce effects, but g is the limiting factor

They move like humans, they're not super fast, they don't dart around at extreme velocity, it's close combat in the rocks and debris, so they can't move that fast anyways. When in transit they have to accell and decel at a safe rate.

But same goes for the enemy, so it's even. There are drones for hyper fast maneuver, like I said there's a drone battle going on around them, both sides are using drones as well.

It's like I have one sketch where the Apollos are in an all round defense fending off a drone swarm attack.

The Apollo is the Man-Machine Team, it can do it all, there are however drones for simpler tasks,

It's combined arms, the MBD is for a certain role, close combat with Astronaut in command. Fighting in the rocks, boarding actions, landing actions on planets if need be, there are other platforms for battling at long range in open space, but they almost never meet to fight, because it's mostly a Cold War Space Race.

The warships mostly just transport the MBD's to the front, but they don't engage the enemy fleet, because that could escalate to become a Thermonuclear War back on earth.

It's Space Vietnam. There are lines they cannot cross, they are constrained by the Cold War Balance of Terror

Now, in this futuristic Cold War Space Race the Pentagon still uses DEFCON

But it's changed slightly, DEFCON One no longer means launch the ICBM's

DEFCON One simply means you have direct combat in progress between two Spacepowers

There is DEFCON Zero if that goes over the brink into nuclear war back on earth

DEFCON Five ; is 15 minutes notice to move, at check fire

DEFCON Four ; is 10 minutes minutes notice to move, bogeys inbound

DEFCON Three ; is 5 minutes notice to move, bandits inbound

DEFCON Two ; is prepared for immediate action, contact imminent

DEFCON One ; is contact

I struggle to believe in a future for manned space flight.
I can understand why NASA have to put a face on their fundraising campaigns. A man on the moon is more sexy than a probe on Mars. You wouldn't have got the treasury to cough up the cost of WWII for the Apollo program without public support. But we all know that putting a man on the moon wasn't the real goal.
The Space race was, is and will always be about the military.
I guess it's the same with writing fiction about space, not going to sell a story with no human interest.
In a world where everything around us will be automated in the future, it's hard for me to see how you could justify the costs of keeping a meat bag alive in such a hostile environment when machines will do every job better without need for sleep, food, air to breath etc.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

You write your sci-fi, I'll write mine, but I got the dope

I got romance, I got sex, I got cool military shit in space, I got gangsters, I got martial arts.

I got porno too, because there is an X-rated version.

I'm not knocking your vision, I just don't believe in it.
My story would be less blockbuster more documentary. The bits I would enjoy writing would be the world-building and the history.
My story would have a lot of dates and a lot of descriptions of habitats, scientific advancements, and farming. I wouldn't really have a central plot.
The story would be man's expansion into space.
It would be a more peaceful story where the climate crisis had brought nations together to work for the common good.
More Jean Luc Picard than Jean Claude van Damme.
My film would be 100% Kubric. Long and dull, but spectacularly cinematic.
Only me and Brewster would want to watch it though.

The only way to save it would be satirical humour. Lots of irony and throwbacks to current events. That's a different movie though.

Well, I'm not Kubrick, so I'm not going to try to be someone else, I gotta be me.

In terms of long and boring, that doesn't work in either novel nor graphic novel format.

The main thing for me is that I be able to have fun making it, it's entertainment for me first.

No point in having humans there at all, with drones zipping about. The g-limited meatbags would be sitting ducks in a maneuverability contest.

Self-propelled rockets in a long-range bombardment are the way to go. Don’t try dogfighting a drone - it will win.

There's no point in having a story without the humans. That's all most humans are interested in reading about.

Science fiction is not really about the future, science fiction is about the now, simply set in the future.

So the theme here is actually from the present ; Man-Machine Teaming (MMT)

That’s fine. Just come up with some kind of reason that drones aren’t the main option for combat. Ethics? Technical difficulties? Random McGuffin?

Doesn’t matter what it is, just have a reason that this isn’t Terminator Wars.

Well, it's the same reason they haven't replaced man in the loop now.

It's a Cold War, it could go thermonuclear back on earth, the man in the loop is the chain of command.

People would not accept Skynet. Has to be a man in the loop.
