Not sure where people are getting the idea God is some sort of parental guardian that's going to hold your hand.

I think the Jacobins compare God to their utopian nanny-state ideal, honestly. Implicitly, he's saying God can't do all the wonderful things for you the centrally-planned marxist state can take care of.

I only posted this because I thought the WSJ was for "serious people" and now I realize why adult coloring books have become a thing

Maybe the neighbouring States prayed harder.
Oh well, at least he didn't kill 14,000 like the Hindu, Muslim and Bhuddist Gods did in the last week.
Go figure the religion hater knows fuck all about how it works.

TBH, that kama sutra shit has always been connect-the-dots type stuff for me. Creepy, Prussian, Frederick William I type stuff.

I like to ad-lib it, and on the fly; who knows, I could be wrong.

Where did God promise you that he would preserve you from natural disaster and hardships if you pray hard enough?
Natural disasters? I thought he was omnipotent....
It's like you're saying prayer is pointless.
If God is omnipotent, he doesn't have to interfere because of prayer. That just isn't in the Bible, in fact, the opposite is. The prayer is communication/conversation with God, as I understand it, not some sort of contract for services.

If I have freedom in my love
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone that soar above
Enjoy such Liberty" - Richard Lovelace
