Except that's bullshit, sometimes taking a life has nothing to do with who does or doesn't have the moral high ground. Plenty of people who have killed people have the moral high ground, some people got to get got.The Conservative wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2019 9:41 amDid I ever claim that?StCapps wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2019 9:24 amSome soldiers behave more honorably than others, to pretend they are all the same is laughable. Pretending that Christian soldiers are any different than other soldiers is on par with the thread I suppose.
Are you a ‘terrorist’ if you attack an invading army? Seems the brits used the same logic a few centuries ago..
I stated that the minute you take a life you no longer hold any moral high ground to stand upon.
It doesn't matter how it's done, the fact it was done it the final result.

Pagan armies would crucify their enemies for miles and miles along the Appian Way. When the Christian barbarians sacked the city in the sixth century, they honored sanctuary to all who sought it in the churches. There's a difference. Hating soldiers doesn't somehow erase that difference. At all.

Nobody hates soldiers in general. But the argument was made that ‘christian’ (western) soldiers are somehow more righteous or correct than others.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2019 10:16 amPagan armies would crucify their enemies for miles and miles along the Appian Way. American soldiers fight for the Empire of Liberty. Freedom of Navigation.
It's not a war of annihilation.

As a professional infantry soldier, I was indoctrinated to mass murder on behalf of the state.

Brothers in Arms, since 1918.
Anglo-America. The Anglosphere. United Kingdom - United States Security Agreement.
NATO was simply the forward position to prevent a nuclear war.
Freedom of Navigation is the prize. King Dollar rule the waves for our American freedom from tyranny.

Re: The Armory - Guns, Knives, and Axes
I wasn't a hero, I never did anything particularly heroic, just another face in the ranks of the Thin Red Line.
I was decorated for my service, but for no particular valour therein.
I did however take my role very seriously. We were on the Trace to stop World War Three.
I was highly motivated. I was keen to be at the sharp end. Prepared to kill & die, but by no means eager to.
If the Balloon went up, they said our life expectancy was between two hours and two weeks.
This was going to be a Doomsday War. The mission was to prevent that by standing in its path.
It wasn't a job, it was an adventure, but I was a professional & I aspired to be a man of honor.
The Thin Red Line on the Inner German Border. For the Free World.

We had these reassuring public information films and leaflets in the UK.
We knew how to survive a nuclear attack so we just went on with our lives.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

We had alerts. To test readiness. When the warning order came down, we didn't know if it was real or exercise.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2019 2:40 pmWe had these reassuring public information films and leaflets in the UK.

When we were fully spun up, if they called "Endex" ; that was exercise.
If they didn't call Endex ; that would be World War Three.
In the Fulda Gap. With CBRN. Nuke Suits On. Doomsday War.
This is what it was like ; Gwynne Dyer on the Trace.

The government told us that if we leaned a couple of doors against a wall and got underneath we would live.
We all felt much better knowing that the government was keeping us safe.
