The point was: changing the subject to cars doesn't make a lot of sense because we already regulate cars and highways for safety, and work at reducing automobile fatalities. You can't really ask, 'why are people worried about guns and not cars' since people are worried about cars.

In fact, all of the worrying about car safety is why car manufacturers are constantly advertising their safety innovations. When an arms manufacture tried a safety innovation with owner recognition built into the gun, everyone freaked out.

Guns and cars are safe as long as you don't have an idiot behind either... so what's the issue here?

There was a lot wrong with the picture before it got to the firing part... as you stated, many guns brought up, no one questioned it? Security, the maitre d', people walking around? I mean seriously, I know this was one of the crime capitols for a while, but really!?

It's illegal to not wear a seatbelt, yet when someone dies because they don't wear their seatbelt, do we then make it so the cars won't start without someone clicking the seatbelt shut?

Then what happens if someone does that, then just latches it to the seat?

Do we make it so that it won't start unless a part of the seatbelt is extended? Or weight restrictions have to be met? Or both?

See what we are doing here? The more restrictions, the less freedom... the more restrictions the more money it's going to cost to enforce them, and in turn, the cost of cars become outrageous.

There is going to be a point of time where we say "Fuck it, let Darwinism take affect" and we should to... we have become a country of babies because we are afraid to get hurt this day and age. We either learn from our mistakes or not...
