That, usually Arab 1st gen., Muslim immigrants adhering to the Salafi schools of Islam have started harassing, threatening and recruiting among Muslim communities that arrived in the early 70's and who, for the most part were secularized - even if their educational and employment levels were low. Salafists from the Hizb ut tahrir organization even showed up to intimidate Muslims who stood in line to vote in the last elections. No murders related to it, so far, though and luckily not all neighbourhoods with majority number Muslims, have a Salafist prescense.

Imagine if this were the other way around, and millions of Christians decided to waltz into Egypt and create Christian zones, where they attacked Arab police and refused to adhere to Egyptian law, but created their own little alternative state within Egypt. Would that be okay? Because that's what is happening to Europe by the Muslims.

Police have no problem dealing with those who attack them. Muslims in my country don't excatly reach French numbers, or even Swedish ones. But the issue of the threats against more secularized, early wave Muslim immigrants, is one of fear and secrecy. It's also worth pointing out that voter participation among immigrants and descendents, while not at ethnic Danish levels (87% last election) was still high-ish (66% and 53% for immigrants and their descendents, respectively). It's a decrease since 2001 levels of immigrant voter participation (70%/65%, ethnic Danish 85%).

The problem in those neighbourhoods where Salafists patrol and/or have a voice in the sermons at the mosques, is that some of those intimidations tactics work too well.
