The ending may be lame because they tried to solve too many of the shows mysteries in unsatisfactory ways, but it's still a damn good show, especially for Network TV.PartyOf5 wrote:I have to go back and watch that series again. Re: What show are you watching right now?
Between Netflix, Youtube, and sports I don't watch any TV shows on broadcast television anymore other than Walking Dead.
Some shows I have watched recently on Netflix:
The Following - Kevin Bacon, 3 seasons. Season 1 was great, parts of season 2 were dreadful, and season 3 picked back up again. My major issue with it was how the characters seemed to go in the same loop of actions over time, like the writers kept going to the same thing over and over. Overall it's something I'd watch again.
Iron Fist & Defenders - I really enjoyed Daredevil and Cage. Haven't watched JJ yet. Iron Fist was disappointing. The main actor looks the part, but is stuck in some sort of emo/whiny/ignorant mode throughout the whole thing. Not a good season. Defenders was better, but not a lot seemed to happen for 10 hours of show. Between the shows and movies I have a feeling that the Marvel well is beginning to run dry and the product is getting stale.
Dennis Leary - Some show from 1992. Pretty funny. Kinda weird watching this on netflix today. A lot of his routine would get him endless hate from the humorless lefties today. I'm waiting for them to complain to Netflix and have them pull it any day now.
Ozark - Pretty good, even if it does echo Breaking Bad in many ways. Looking forward to another season.
The 100 - Can be really good and can be really boring. It goes in spurts. I like that things move along at a decent pace. No waiting an entire season for something meaningful to happen.
Van Helsing - Started off good, but ended with me not caring. Another post-apocalypse world scenario. One of the main problems is that it by the time S1 ended I disliked and/or didn't care about every character.

Watching HBO's Hard Knocks about the Tampa bay Bucs.
This show is great. Superior to GoT, after this I will cancel HBO Now.
Westworld couldn't hold my interest, 3-4 episodes in.
After sampling all this new stuff, Rick & Morty still the best new show I've seen in years

The Last Kingdom is good. Story moves well through season one. Characters are likable and serve a purpose. King Alfred is a clever dude.

Read the novels. The television series skips over so very much.

According to StCapps, that's absolutely necessary in order to make it on tv, and you're a fool for wanting more content.Speaker to Animals wrote:GloryofGreece wrote:The Last Kingdom is good. If you think you can adapt a novel straight over to television and not skip over anything, while still having an entertaining television show, point me to the example of such a TV show. Y'all are talking about a unicorn that does not exist, fronting like if TV shows just did things your way, then that would make every tv show adapted from a novel better, but it won't.GrumpyCatFace wrote:According to StCapps, that's absolutely necessary in order to make it on tv, and you're a fool for wanting more content.
There is a thing called too much content, more content is not always a good thing, especially if you are doing more content just for the sake of having more content. Just because you like GoT so much that you'd watch 15+ seasons of it with 3x the filler, that doesn't mean that everyone else will. Sometimes source material holds a TV show back, and in the case of GoT, they stay too faithful to the books as it is. The TV show is better than the books, when it comes to GoT, you are just in denial about it and would prefer to ruin the show for those who already realize this.

Did anyone saw the new season of American Horror Story: Cult?
