Bought my wife the S&W Airweight in 38

She loves it, keeps it in her 'Special Purse'. Puts drunk BC lawyers on the run................... proven fact.

Yeah, that's a beaut. I'm a S&W guy. Shareholder too.

My wife won't really shoot, I taught her how, but she's not into it.

I got lots of buddies who want to shoot, but don't own guns

So it would be good to have a couple when I take them to the range.

The .357 with the big flash ported barrel delivers the blam factor, the .44 is the next step up.

I wanted to get it in 22 mag, because of the power to weight issue. It shoots great, and while it's so damn light you could drop it in a pocket and forget about it, even the power of a 38 makes for a lot of kick back. I think 22 mag would be perfect, but I couldn't find it when I was anniversary shopping.

My wifes funny, a lot of the time she doesn't want to shoot, and then out of the blue she'll say, lets got to the range. So, who fucking knows. I just roll with it.

Frankly, I kind of want to get another in 22 mag to give to the wife and keep the 38 for me. I could keep that thing in my sock.

Great looking gun my man. Now maybe I'm just being persnickety, but Lord I wished they wouldn't engrave so much shit on it.

On one side of my 357 it reads "BEFORE USING GUN-READ INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FREE FROM RUGER, NEWPORT, NH USA"

My wife's a classically gunless Canadian, she doesn't even like having them in the house.

Most of my buddies are gunless Canadians too.

Usually when I first pull out the 686 to show it off, the reaction is "holy shit, is that real?!!"

I used to live on a lake with 99% Canadian vacay homes. I fully understand.

My wife has a funny history. Mayflower on both sides, early fights with Iroqouis. Ancestors at Bunkerhill, 1st Michigan under Custer, Meuse-Argonne, grandfather flying over the hump in the China theatre. Then her parents, baby boomers, almost no guns...………. I fixed that.

Yeah, my parents were lefty pot smoking beatniks, but my father liked guns just to try them, he was a pacifist, so he wouldn't shoot a man, but he liked to shoot a handgun just to try it out.

My mother is a country girl, so she was raised around guns, and she would shoot a man, but she doesn't bother to own one, if somebody attacked my mother, she'd probably stab the guy to death, she's actually a little crazy.

My wifes grandfather was a WWII vet, then Harley Cop, then Chief of Police.

The wifes parents have his service sidearm laying around somewhere, probably in a box being disrespected. Whenever I think about it, it drives me crazy. I've seen pics, and in the holster it looks like a Police S&W model 10. I want it so bad I can taste it, but knowing them I have to tread really lightly.

My father in law was marginally in the military Vietnam era NG, then Air NG. He's a cools guy, he's become a respectable crusty old fucker. Her mom is an Uber Prog. who disses my wife by saying I changed her and ruined her daughters politics and world view.
