It's a weak point in the military right now, peacetime/optional mentality, if you're building a military force to fight wars; it's all about logistics, economies of scale, so; keep it simple stupid.C-Mag wrote:Hell Smitty, you know how it goes. One service wants show others up by being different, saying their shit is better. Probably not enough appreciable difference between the Glock and the Sig to make up for the loss of standardization. The Army chose the Baretta when it was the hot new kid on the block too.Smitty-48 wrote:The Brits went with Glock, Navy SEAL's went Glock, why'd the Army go SIg? Everybody in NATO/NNMA should just quit scewing around and go Glock, keep it simple stupid.
Everybody having their own custom kit? Net result in a shooting war; shortages and a lack of people trained to use the kit.
The US should just go Glock across the board, then build a big Glock factory in the USA, and crank out Glocks for all NATO/NNMA.
With economies of scale, the price can't be beat, so everybody will be forced to buy them.
