Statement 2: You can't punish illegal immigrants who fled their oppressive homelands for seeking freedom and opportunity in America. Sending them back to their homelands would be akin to being an accessory to murder.
For progressives, America is the worst, oppressive, shit hole ever - until you're about to deport an illegal from it.

No - he's just conveniently ignoring the fact that it's cheaper to give someone a 2K one way ticket and build a wall to keep them out, then it is to allow them to come in for free and collect social benefits for 30 years.

Zlaxer wrote:No - I want him to answer as best he can. I want to know why they think middle America should pay subsidies for the citizens of other nations when the middle class is being obliterated.....or why our social programs should be used to subsidize the worlds poor? What is their justification? Why shouldn't Mexico be forced to pay for the mistakes of Mexican citizens? Sucks for the DACA kids - but we didn't force their parents to bring them here.....it's not our job to fix their mess - nor can we afford to IMHO. Why do they continuously ignore the argument that amnesty promotes more illegal immigration? I want to see the reasons From the Left has to support his position other than simple feelz....Speaker to Animals wrote:It's the progressive white man's burden.
@FTL - where's the money going to come from? If you say the 1% - fat chance, we all know that translates into taxes on the middle class....so then the questions becomes, why do you want to make life harder for the middle class to pay for subsidies for non-citizens? How is that fair or just to the middle class?
No response FTL?

Why do you assume they will be an economic net loss?Zlaxer wrote:Okeefenokee wrote:Hannah's upset he didn't get the firing quads he was promised.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:Why should the middle class be required to pay for all these forced re-locations! If it is just spending priorities, instead of complaining about how hard the American middle class has it, well, there may be all sorts of opportunities for budget compromise.
As a side note, why is it that anytime anyone round these parts mentions that things can be tough for the poor, they are certain to be reminded that this is the richest, greatest, most luxurious place in the history of the world; but there is no end to how long someone can bemoan the plight of the 'middle class' without being told to buck up and quit whining.
HAIL!

If we are going to be unethical, no sense in spending a lot of money on it as well.Okeefenokee wrote:Hannah's upset he didn't get the firing quads he was promised.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:Why should the middle class be required to pay for all these forced re-locations! Show me hard evidence that illegal immigrants are a net benefit to tax payers? BTW, I'd gladly pay three times the current price for a head of letus if if meant government subsidies could be reduced...I can either pay the true price of lettus to the farmer, or I can pay a subsidized price to the farmer and pay the remainder to the government in taxes to pay for subsidies...the less money flowing through the government the better IMHO.
Also, I'm all for downsizing the MIC - but I am not for open borders - people need to have stock in a government for it to work - when one can hop from one government to the next without care, then republics break down.

Re: DACA
We aren't talking about all illegal immigrants, or I'm not, at least.
We are talking about DACA candidates who will, ideally, not be lettuce pickers.
I am not for open borders either. The wall is just a border-totem as far as I am concerned, but fetishists are going to fetish no matter what, so build away.
